Morocco: A Luxury Destination and Ancient Culture at Travel Next Minas

On August 16 and 17, Belo Horizonte hosted Travel Next Minas, an event that promises to boost the tourism market in Latin America. One of the highlights of the edition was Mohamed Amine Eljoudani, representative of the Moroccan National Tourism Office in Brazil, who brought news about the expansion of Moroccan tourism in the region

According to Eljoudani, Brazil and Latin America are strategic markets for the development of tourism in Morocco. "We are strongly involved in Brazil because we understand the importance of this market for our global strategy," he said.

Direct Flight and New Opportunities

One of the major new developments announced by Eljoudani is the launch of a direct flight between São Paulo and Morocco, scheduled for December 7. This new service is just the beginning of a broader connection between the African country and South America. "Our goal is to serve not only Brazil, but all of South America, offering a direct route that facilitates tourists' access to our country," he highlighted. Morocco, with its ancient history and stunning landscapes, such as the Sahara Desert, is a destination that increasingly attracts Brazilian and Latin American tourists in search of culture and adventure.

Morocco: A Country for All Tastes and Budgets

Morocco stands out for its diversity of tourist offerings that cater to different types of travelers. The country, which is just 13 kilometers from Spain and a 40-minute flight from Lisbon, is an affordable and attractive option for those seeking an authentic and varied cultural experience. "Morocco is a country for all tastes and all budgets," said Eljoudani, emphasizing that the local currency, the dirham, offers excellent value for money, especially for Brazilians, whose real is worth approximately two dirhams.

Infrastructure and Luxury Tourism

In addition to being a cultural and historical destination, Morocco is investing in luxury tourism and the corporate market. Cities such as Marrakesh, famous for its hotels and convention centers, have become popular destinations for international events. In 2023, the country hosted the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Convention, which attracted more than 25,000 participants. “Morocco is one of the best destinations in Africa for business tourism, and we want to showcase this to companies and corporate agencies in South America and Brazil,” explained Eljoudani.

A Successful Year: Record Number of Visitors

With a robust tourism infrastructure, Morocco has already welcomed 14.5 million tourists in 2024, consolidating its position as a competitive destination in relation to neighboring countries such as Spain and Portugal. The combination of luxury and accessibility makes Morocco an ideal destination for both tourists seeking exclusive experiences and those looking for more economical options. "Our country is much more affordable compared to European destinations, offering affordable luxury and a unique experience," concluded Eljoudani.
