Until Monday, September 9, tourism companies that have worked on these lines in the products or services they offer can participate in the ninth version of the Most Tourist Value contest. This year, the contest will recognize three companies, which will receive an audiovisual kit with professional videos and photographs so they can promote their businesses.
Verónica Pardo, Undersecretary of Tourism, highlighted that “the Most Tourist Value contest is an opportunity to consolidate the vision of sustainable development that we promote through the National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism and is part of its revitalization stage. We want to recognize and reward companies that, in addition to offering unique tourism experiences, are leading the change towards a model that protects the environment, promotes climate resilience and generates equitable economic benefits in each territory. This contest is a platform for leaders in sustainability to be highlighted and supported, because we firmly believe that sustainable tourism is key to the future of Chile.”
For Sernatur, it is essential to promote the development and positioning of innovative tourism products with an experiential approach, as these companies are inspiring and an example for their peers.
“We are looking for tourism products that are designed and thought out in accordance with the trends of new consumers and that provide a more valuable experience for the national market. This year, we also included sustainability as a focus, since travelers increasingly demand tourism experiences that are responsible with the social, economic and environmental surroundings where they are located,” said the national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez, regarding the theme of the 2024 event.
More Tourist Value for Chile
Since 2015, the competition for Most Tourist Value has distinguished innovative companies from all over the country. Now Sernatur will distinguish companies that contribute to the diversification of experiences by incorporating outstanding innovations and, above all, that stand out for having a range of products and services with specific sustainable practices and a positive impact on their environment.
The call is open to all registered tourism service providers, Chilean and foreign, regardless of the region or commune of Chile where they reside, the type of activity, specialty or volume of tourists they receive.
After an initial evaluation stage, Sernatur will select the sixteen companies with the highest score—one per region—which will then undergo a mentoring and preparation process for the grand finale, an elevator pitch competition that will determine the three winners during October of this year. The winners will receive a digital kit with promotional audiovisual pieces and will be broadcast on the social networks of the Undersecretariat of Tourism and Sernatur.
Interested companies can apply from the website sernatur.cl/masvalorturistico, until Monday, September 9, 2024, a platform where the contest rules are also found.
