The Quebec Tourism Industry Alliance and its partners are proud to welcome the Michelin Guide team to Quebec.

The first selected restaurants will be announced in spring 2025. Since 2022, Michelin has been present in two major Canadian cities, making Quebec the first province in Canada to host the Guide across its entire territory.

First published in 1900, the Michelin Guide has become an essential reference in the world of gastronomy.

The future presence of restaurants from this northeastern Canadian province in the Michelin Guide is a guarantee of international recognition for Quebec gastronomy that will have repercussions on all gastronomic tourism companies and other tourism sectors. The great potential of this sector for the tourism industry is one of the main assets of the destination, which is distinguished by the abundance of gourmet experiences of the highest quality. Culinary tourism is a strong market trend, as revealed by a recent survey by the Ministry of Tourism which indicates that 70% of potential visitors for this summer season in Quebec are interested in it.

This unique partnership between the Quebec Tourism Industry Alliance, Destination Québec Cité, the City of Quebec, Tourisme Montréal, the City of Montreal, Destination Centre-ville and the Economic Development Canada for the Regions of Quebec (DEC) office underlines the importance that tourism industry partners attach to supporting gastronomic businesses and promoting Quebec gastronomy on the international stage. To produce the Michelin Guide, the DEC will provide the Alliance with a non-refundable contribution of $450,000 over three years. The Alliance also thanks La Table Ronde, the Quebec gastronomy collective, for its contribution to the implementation of this historic collaboration.

Geneviève Cantin, President and CEO of the Quebec Tourism Industry Alliance, said: “With its creative culinary scene focused on local products, Quebec is emerging as the exceptional gourmet destination it is in North America. We are very pleased with this agreement, which will contribute to Quebec’s influence among a wide clientele, in a booming global market.” She added: “Quebec is full of restaurants and culinary experiences that are the envy of the entire world. That is why we are proud to support the arrival of the prestigious Michelin Guide in Quebec, with which our gastronomy and culture will shine in all their splendor. It is thanks to the collaboration of the entire ecosystem, as in this case with the Quebec Tourism Industry Alliance, the Government of Quebec and all the partners involved, that we contribute to the development of tourism in Quebec.”
