During the conclave, the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Central American Tourism Council (CCT) was handed over. During the ceremony, the Minister of Tourism of Honduras, Yadira Gómez, handed over the baton to her Nicaraguan counterpart, Anasha Campbell, who assumed the leadership of the organization. This handover marks a new chapter in the joint efforts to strengthen the promotion of tourism in the region, under the direction of Nicaragua in the coming months.

In this regard, the session was chaired by Anasha Campbell, Minister of Tourism of Nicaragua, who expressed her satisfaction at receiving the Central American delegations. “We welcome all the sister countries with open arms, we are very happy that they can learn a little more about the land of lakes and volcanoes. In these spaces we can implement strategies that help us position ourselves internationally as a region, and on this occasion as a single group that is Central America,” said Campbell.

The CATA Board of Directors focused its work session on analyzing the progress of CATA's strategic plan, which addresses three fundamental axes: promotion and advertising, marketing spaces, and the generation of tourism products. With a focus on the implementation of campaigns and other tactical actions, the Board seeks to increase the dissemination of Central America's tourism offering in priority markets such as Spain, Germany, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and North America.

CATA member countries continue to work to strengthen the tourism collaboration and integration of the isthmus, positioning it as a unique and diverse destination on the global tourism scene.
