On Friday morning, August 30, the renowned Argentine chain, which currently operates 23 properties, announced the signing of contracts for the addition of three new properties. One of these destinations is located in San Carlos de Bariloche, the most important city for tourism in Argentine Patagonia. It also announced the addition of two new hotels under its three-star brand: Mérit Mendoza, which represents the chain's third establishment in the province, and Mérit Carlos Paz Lago, the second hotel in the mountain town.
“We are very pleased to announce that Amérian continues to grow and expand throughout Argentina. With the addition of Amérian Bariloche, we have added a new flagship destination for Argentine tourism, which allows us to always be an option, whatever the destination chosen, when it comes to vacationing or traveling for business,” said Roberto Amengual, President of Amérian Hotels.
With these additions, there will be 27 Amérian hotels distributed throughout the country, including the Amérian Jujuy which is also under construction, all prepared to offer unique and unforgettable experiences.
Amérian Bariloche: the best location, surrounded by chocolates
Located in the heart of the city and close to the renowned chocolate shops of Bariloche, this four-star superior hotel will offer 140 rooms, apartment-style, with up to two rooms and an area of approximately 40 m² each. All rooms will be equipped with a kitchen and fully furnished.
The hotel will be part of the prestigious DEL TURISTA shopping and dining complex, which will have more than 15,000 square meters. Its facilities will include a SportClub gym, a coworking space, a supermarket from the renowned “TODO” chain on the ground floor, and a commercial parking lot with capacity for 155 vehicles, as well as 24-hour security.
The restaurant, where breakfast will be offered, will be located on the terrace and will delight with panoramic views of the impressive Nahuel Huapi Lake.
Emilio Secco, a shareholder in the hotel, explained, “We are a family from Bariloche that has been investing in the city for 60 years. This project is one of the most important developments in recent years for Bariloche, and has two particularities: it will be innovative because it is integrated with the entire commercial area and is in a central location.” He also added, “We chose Amérian because all of us who are part of this business know that it is a national, family-oriented, very pleasant and flexible chain that participates and supports everything that one proposes as an investor.” It is estimated that the construction will take approximately 4 years.
Merit Mendoza:
The third hotel of the chain in the province is a modern option in the city centre, of superior 3-star category, with a total area of 4,000 m2, 115 rooms, a meeting room and a restaurant on the ground floor, in a complex with external medical offices and parking for 90 spaces. Construction is expected to be completed in January 2028.
Walter Morbidoni, one of the hotel’s shareholders, said: “It is located in a strategic location, 300 meters from San Martín Street and at kilometer 0 of Mendoza, in front of the Central Hospital and meters from the bus terminal. We estimate that it will receive classic travel, business, but also health tourism.” Regarding the investment and the opening date, he said: “We expect an investment of 12 million dollars in the entire complex. We plan to start excavating at the beginning of next year, and a construction phase of 2 and a half years.”
Mérit Carlos Paz Lago: the best terrace with a view of the mountains
On the shores of Lake San Roque and with a view of the mountains, this 3-star superior boutique-style hotel with a minimalist industrial design has 2,192 m2 and 33 rooms, including apartment-style rooms with kitchenettes and high-end furniture.
The hotel has a breakfast room, bar and multipurpose rooms with a grill and kitchen. In addition, the parking lot has capacity for a total of 30 cars, including covered and uncovered spaces.
The beautiful outdoor space with a solarium and swimming pool, as well as a heated pool for children, stands out. The large terrace is amazing with its 205m2 and its views of the Cordoba mountains. Gustavo Toledo, a shareholder in the project, explained: “Plaza Carlos Paz receives 800 thousand tourists a year, it has always been one of the most popular squares, taking into account students and international events. Most of the hotels in the area are 3 stars or less, we are aiming for a boutique hotel and a more limited market."
The announcement of these three new hotels was made in the context of the Franchise Integration Day, an annual event exclusive to the 23 hotels that are part of the Chain, where franchisees participated in updating and innovation activities that promote the excellence of the chain. Roberto Amengual, president of the Chain, mentioned: “As a chain, we always work to propose improvements and solutions, but one of the things that these meetings generate is the exchange of value between hotels. They are the ones who live day to day, with the guests, with creative solutions. We seek to have this dialogue and exchange between more and more hotels.”
