Embratur was present at one of the most important tourism events in Latin America, the ICCA Latin America and Caribbean Summit 2024, held in the Dominican Republic. During the regional meeting of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) – Latin America and the Caribbean -, the Agency sought to promote the MICE segment (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) in Brazil, in addition to attracting international events.
In addition to Embratur, the congress in Santo Domingo, held from September 10 to 13, was attended by business and event tourism professionals, leaders of the Latin American events industry and international associations.
On this occasion, Embratur participated in business rounds, meetings to attract events, as well as six social networking meetings with representatives of international associations, with a focus on strengthening relations with these potential clients.
For the Agency's Event Promotion and Fundraising Coordinator, Cintia Hayashi, Embratur's participation opened up a perspective on new trends in the sector.
“Embratur's experience at this congress will contribute to incorporating the sector's trends in the Agency's MICE area, improving its performance on the international stage. A new perspective that can add value to the work carried out by Embratur and provide inspiration for more assertive actions related to innovation, communication and international business opportunities. In addition to this perception, the event also provided meetings and networking, generating valuable leads to attract new international events to the country,” said the coordinator.
Embratur, together with the Rio Convention Bureau, the Iguassu Convention Bureau and the company Gl Events, were the Brazilian members of ICCA participating in the 2024 edition of the event. ICCA is a global community of industry leaders of associations, conference organizers, destinations and event providers, with more than 1,000 members from 91 territories and countries.
In 2023, Brazil ranked 1st in the ICCA ranking for Latin America; 3rd among the Americas and in the Top 20 in the world, in addition to being the only Latin country included in this group of nations, confirming the excellence of the organization and promotion of international events in the country.
