Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the innovative global cruise line that has been breaking new ground for 57 years, has just unveiled and put on sale the itineraries for the new ship in its Prima Plus class, the Norwegian Luna.
Becoming the 21st ship in the company’s innovative fleet, Norwegian Luna has just opened itineraries for guests to choose from a variety of fun-filled roundtrip voyages from Miami from April 4, 2026 through November of the same year. Norwegian Luna will begin her inaugural Caribbean season with two western itineraries to Roatan Island, Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Harvest Caye, Belize, the company’s resort destination. The ship will then sail seven-day cruises calling at beautiful Eastern Caribbean destinations including Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island in The Bahamas, which will feature a new pier in late 2025.
At 322 metres in length, 156,300 gross tons and accommodating approximately 3,550 guests in double occupancy, Norwegian Luna will represent a 10% overall increase in size and capacity over the Prima Class ships Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. Norwegian Luna will be the sister ship to Norwegian Aqua, the Company’s newest ship, scheduled for delivery in March 2025. Both ships are currently being built by renowned Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, with interior designs by internationally renowned architects AD Associates, Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design and Studio Dado.
“Inspired by the connection between the moon and the ocean tides, we are thrilled to introduce Norwegian Luna as the perfect complement to her sister ship, Norwegian Aqua,” said David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line. “Norwegian Luna’s debut demonstrates our continued commitment to offering our guests more of what we know they enjoy and value – a brand new ship with the latest innovations that also sails to the beautiful tropical destinations of the Caribbean. It’s important to us that we can provide our guests with more to see, do and enjoy on board – and ultimately, more from their cruise vacation. We can’t wait for them to experience Norwegian Luna.”
The artwork, featured on Norwegian Luna’s hull, will feature a lush dreamscape by ELLE, the renowned Napa, California-based street artist who has collaborated with renowned brands such as Nike, Rebook and Ralph Lauren. Titled “The Moon,” the piece is a visual exploration of humanity’s deep-rooted connection to the celestial forces of space, as humans are intrinsically tied to the ebb and flow of the moon. “The Moon” will be proudly displayed on the ship’s bow, guiding guests on an epic and extraordinary journey of discovery.
“I am thrilled to be collaborating with Norwegian Cruise Line, who are renowned for displaying stunning artwork designs on the hulls of their entire fleet,” she told ELLE. “It has been an incredible experience to craft this piece and to know that my 322-metre piece of art will be sailing the seas, touring the world for all to see.”
Mirroring Norwegian Aqua’s luxurious design and structure, Norwegian Luna will thrill guests with NCL’s signature Aqua Slidecoaster, a unique hybrid roller coaster and waterslide that will debut next year on Norwegian Aqua and become the longest and fastest slide at sea. Featuring two adrenaline-pumping slides and a magnetic elevator that transports adventurous guests through two different courses, the attraction will feature three stories of fun twists and turns around the ship’s funnel. Norwegian Luna will also feature a digital sports venue, the Glow Court, which will offer a variety of interactive activities for guests during the day and transform into a nightclub at night. Guests will also be able to continue enjoying some of their favorite experiences onboard Norwegian Luna, including The Drop, NCL’s 10-story free-fall slide, and the Stadium, an outdoor space offering complimentary activities.
Norwegian Luna will feature the brand’s new, luxurious three-bedroom duplex Haven suites at the brand’s premium keycard-accessible resort, The Haven by Norwegian, which was first announced for debut on sister ship Norwegian Aqua. These spacious two-story suites will feature separate living and dining areas, three bathrooms, a balcony and three bedrooms. Haven guests will continue to enjoy 24-hour butler service and a dedicated concierge team, as well as access to a spacious sundeck, an infinity pool overlooking the ship’s aft deck, an open-air spa featuring a glass-walled sauna and chill-out cabin, two whirlpool tubs, a private lounge and an exclusive bar with premium spirits and wines.
Norwegian Luna will also return several of NCL’s top guest-loved experiences, including Ocean Boulevard, the 45,000-square-foot open-air promenade that wraps around the ship to bring guests closer to the sea; Vibe Beach Club, the adults-only outdoor space; Infinity Beach, offering stunning ocean views; and an expansive upper pool deck equipped with sun loungers.
Guests onboard Norwegian Luna can also enjoy new Prima Plus Class dining and dining experiences, including Sukhothai, the company’s specialty Thai restaurant with a diverse menu of both traditional and creative offerings, and the Indulge Food Hall with 10 different food stalls, including Planterie, a vegan restaurant. NCL’s specialty and complimentary restaurants include Cagney’s Steakhouse; Le Bistro, the fine-dining French restaurant; and Onda by Scarpetta, the high-end Italian restaurant. In addition to culinary offerings, guests can hang out and sip their favorite drinks at some of the most popular bars and lounges, including Whiskey Bar, Belvedere Bar, and Metropolitan, NCL’s modern Sail & Sustain cocktail bar that won the 2024 Vibe Vista Award for “Best Beverage Menu.”
The rest of the experiences on board Norwegian Luna will be announced next year.
