Costa Rica is developing a series of promotional actions in France, within the framework of the IFTM Top Resa 2024 Fair, considered one of the most important events and exchanges for tourism marketing and business in Europe and the world, which takes place from September 17 to 19 in Paris, France.
In addition to the participation with an eye-catching stand and the active negotiations of 15 tourism companies from Costa Rica, which will show the latest in their offering, the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) took on the task of making the most of this world showcase with the presence of images and audiovisuals of nature, tourist attractions, must-see destinations and the biodiversity of our country on more than 200 interactive screens, in four of the busiest metro stations in the French capital, specifically in St Lazare, Montparnasse, Paris Nord and Gare de Lyon.
The event at the St Lazare station is notable, with an “interactive experience space” so that all those who are passing by and are interested can take a photo with a background of lush Costa Rican landscapes and tourist information.
According to the ICT, in the context of this global fair, content will be generated in some of the main French radio programs on the BFM Business and Radio FG stations, as well as participation in an article in Désirs de Voyage magazine, one of the main travel magazines, in addition to the placement of promotional spaces in the official media of the Top Resa fair.
Finally, Costa Rica will be present in activities with experts from the French tourism sector, specifically the Travel Agents Cup, an exclusive event with the main travel agents in France, and there will be a space at the event of the Confederation of Tourism Organizations of Latin America (COTAL), among other actions.
“Participation in Top Resa in France is strategic to contribute to the positioning of Costa Rica in the European market, but it also constitutes a unique opportunity for the establishment of negotiations between the participating Costa Rican companies, as well as a showcase for the execution of complementary and innovative promotional actions,” said William Rodríguez, Minister of Tourism.
French as potential tourists
According to the most recent data from the ICT, between January and August more than 54 thousand French visited us by air and more than 308 thousand European tourists by the same means. Currently, France represents the main tourist-issuing market from the Old Continent to Costa Rica, surpassing Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and the Netherlands.
This event is a reference for professionals in the tourism sector worldwide, an appropriate and ideal occasion for Costa Rican businessmen to exchange information and negotiate their new product offerings among European sellers of tourist services.
In this edition of the IFTM Top Resa 2024 Fair, the companies Alamo, National & Enterprise Rent a Car, CAST CENTRAL AMERICA, Costa Rent a Car, MORPHO EVASIONS COSTA RICA, Senda Monteverde, Destination Services Costa Rica, Hotel San Bada Resort & Spa, ALTANUEVA / ALTATICA, Enchanting Hotels & Experiences, Cactus Tour LatinXplore, Hotel Parador Nature Resort & Spa/Hotel Arenal Manoa, Tucaya Costa Rica, Adobe Rent a Car, Travel Excellence and Grupo Pachira, Tortuguero, will be present.
The Costa Rica stand features a gastronomic element, a coffee bar and the presence of barista Jonathan Ramírez from ICAFÉ.
According to data from the organizers, in 2023, Top Resa had an influx of approximately 30 thousand people and this year it is expected to exceed this visitation and thus increase the promotion of the participants. More than 170 countries and tourist destinations are participating on this occasion, and more than nine thousand confirmed business meetings have been reported, together with the accreditation of more than 900 journalists from around the world.
