Minor Hotels Europe & Americas has chosen Deepki, the leading ESG platform for the real estate sector, to support its transition to carbon neutrality. The Group leverages Deepki’s platform technology to define and improve its sustainability practices globally.
Minor Hotels Europe & Americas has a well-established sustainability roadmap, launched more than a decade ago and which continues to evolve. The Group is aligned with the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit the increase in global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. To achieve this milestone, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas has committed to reducing its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46.2% by 2030, compared to 2019 levels.
Looking ahead to 2050, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas has set a 90% reduction in emissions across the entire value chain, with the aim of becoming a net-zero emissions company. Both targets have been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
With Deepki, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas will be able to track and monitor the success of its decarbonisation goals, define the necessary energy efficiency measures, assess the impact of the actions implemented, as well as the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. By using a single platform to manage the entire decarbonisation process, from data collection and analysis to reporting and action, real estate agents will be better equipped to make a real impact and achieve net zero emissions.
Minor Hotels Europe & Americas has already started using Deepki to gain a complete overview of the environmental performance of its portfolio, in order to streamline all actions and ensure coherence and consistency across the company. The platform collects and monitors environmental performance data from over 350 buildings in more than 30 countries, centralising key energy and sustainability indicators in a collaborative platform. The aim is to achieve full data coverage through technology and digitalisation, another of the Group's priorities. This ensures greater harmonisation, visibility, analysis, optimisation and forecasting of all data in an automated manner, allowing for a reduction in the carbon footprint and improved environmental performance through greater energy efficiency.
By automating the collection of consumption and invoice data through Deepki’s SaaS solution, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas will be able to streamline the reporting of its environmental performance in a more transparent and accurate way. This will also enable the Group to identify assets exposed to physical and climate transition risks, which could lose value and become stranded assets, a phenomenon that is severely impacting the European real estate sector. In addition, Deepki’s ESG platform enables the implementation of decarbonisation and resilience plans to achieve carbon neutrality and mitigate this risk.
Pilar Rodríguez Esteban, Senior Vice President Projects, Construction, Engineering & Maintenance at Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, comments: “At Minor Hotels Europe & Americas we are committed to an ambitious ESG strategy and rely on Deepki to improve the performance of our real estate assets. The deployment of the Deepki platform across our portfolio has unlocked a new level of transparency and ease of reporting, supporting our ESG leadership within the sector. More and more guests are taking
environmental performance into account when choosing their accommodation, and it is important for us to reflect this in our offering.”
Xana Muñiz, Vice President Southern Europe & LATAM at Deepki, concludes: “Thanks to Deepki, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas has gained a clearer view of its portfolio’s performance and can take concrete steps to improve its ESG credentials. Implementing these measures not only contributes to reducing the hotels’ carbon footprint, but can also generate economic and social benefits, improving the energy efficiency of buildings and creating healthier and more sustainable environments for their guests.”
