Monterrey, Nuevo León, and San Francisco, California, will be more connected than ever with a new nonstop United Airlines route to Mexico. Beginning in October 2024, the airline will become the first and only airline to link the two cities, offering up to two daily flights on Embraer 175 aircraft operated by United Express partner Skywest.
This route will further strengthen United's extensive network in Mexico. Not only will it provide passengers with greater options to the United States and Canada, but it will also allow for expanded connectivity to United's leading network to Asia and Australia. Destinations such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, South Korea, and Sydney, Australia, will now be conveniently connected to Nuevo León via San Francisco.
“We are proud to add this new route to our already extensive flight offering between Mexico and the United States. Each United route is designed to take people to the destinations that are important to them,” said Rolf Meyer, Director of Sales for Mexico and the Caribbean. “This new itinerary between Monterrey and San Francisco aligns with our goal of making United the airline of choice in Mexico for those traveling to North America and
beyond,” he added.
For his part, the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda, stated: “We are seeing a great opportunity to strengthen Monterrey as a destination, since Nuevo León has flights to practically all cities in Mexico, in addition to new routes to Latin America and Europe. This flight will translate into a direct connection with the state, and the strengthening of Monterrey as a key destination for both tourists and
international businesses.”
Meanwhile, Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, Secretary of Tourism of Nuevo León, mentioned: “The new direct flight between Monterrey and San Francisco strengthens our international connectivity and opens new opportunities for tourism in Nuevo León. We hope to welcome more visitors from the west coast of the United States and facilitate cultural and economic exchange between our regions. We invite everyone to discover the cultural, natural and gastronomic wealth of our state.”
United currently offers 22 destinations in Mexico from eight U.S. cities, highlighting the country's importance in United's global network. In addition to the new service from Monterrey to San Francisco, United now offers an increased number of flights to cities such as Tulum, Guadalajara, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Tampico, among others.
United's ever-expanding global network offers our customers in Mexico immense access to international destinations, spanning six continents and 67 countries, in an effort to continue connecting people, uniting the world.
