The “Peru WOW” Roadshow, organized by the Peruvian Commission for the Promotion of Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ), obtained successful results in its three days held in the Spanish cities of Bilbao, Madrid and Valencia. This event sought to position Peru as a unique and attractive destination for long-distance travel.
From September 23 to 25, the 12 participating Peruvian companies presented the best of our country's tourism offering, including tourist trains, hotels, jungle lodges, DMCs and cruises on the Amazon River. As a result, more than 100 Spanish tourism professionals had the opportunity to discover Peru's tourism offerings in nature, adventure and culture, from exotic experiences in the Amazon to the iconic trains to Machu Picchu.
This business meeting also created an ideal setting for the creation of new commercial alliances. During the roadshow, around 580 meetings were held, which generated a business potential of close to €700,000. This will strengthen the commercial and tourist exchange between both countries, boosting both the Peruvian economy and the development of exclusive experiences for Spanish travelers.
These workshops provide a unique opportunity for tourism professionals to learn more about Peru's tourism offering, which is key to continuing to strengthen the positive image of our country abroad. Inbound tourism plays a key role in our economy, as it has a positive economic impact at all levels of the tourism industry, benefiting not only the direct stakeholders in the sector, but also local communities, contributing to more equitable and sustainable development throughout Peru.
