Over the four days, 53 nations, all Argentine provinces, 1,870 exhibitors and more than 6,000 business rounds participated, 39 percent more than last year.
“The success of the FIT was a strong message from the sector, which underlines the importance of tourism for the national economy, its capacity to generate genuine and sustainable jobs throughout the country and to boost the income of foreign currency,” said the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation, Daniel Scioli.
"FIT did it again, we did it together, we exceeded all expectations. This speaks of the unstoppable machine that is tourism and the overwhelming force that we travel agents have as creators of destinations, opportunities and new businesses," said Andrés Deyá, president of FIT and FAEVYT (Argentine Federation of Travel and Tourism Business Associations).
The fair also featured new sectors - FIT Cruises, FIT Food, FIT Outdoor - and a renovated FIT Tech, with a 14 percent increase in the total area of the site. There were also 174 talks and presentations in the six auditoriums of the fair.
Regarding business meetings, there were a total of 6,114 during the two days of commercial activity, with buyers from twelve countries (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Chile, Panama, Hungary and Spain). In addition, 532 tourism entrepreneurs from various sectors of the industry participated - tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, service providers, among others - who presented their offers to generate sales opportunities.
The next edition of the Latin American International Tourism Fair will take place from September 27 to 30, 2025.
