In this context, Travel2latam spoke with Federico Petazzi, Commercial Manager of Jetsmart Argentina.
How was the experience of participating in FIT and what did you specifically present?
The experience is extremely positive, these meetings with the general public, agents, tour operators and tourism organizations are always positive. Today we are going through a very good moment in Argentina, where we have a growth plan and as a result of that we have new opportunities, new destinations and in large part the objective of coming to the FIT was to be able to share it.
What new routes have you introduced and what are you planning to follow in the coming months?
This October, two flights will arrive, two new planes that will join the Argentine fleet, which means that we now have 10 planes based in the country. This is reflected in the increase in frequencies to the domestic destinations where we currently fly, in the reinforcement of regional routes, but above all in the increase in destinations such as Bariloche, Salta, Tucumán, Iguazú, Córdoba and Neuquén, where in some cases we even double the frequencies compared to what we currently cover.
This week we also resumed the flight to Calafate, which is a seasonal and successful flight, which begins this week and which we will surely continue until after Easter. And the peak season begins soon in Ushuaia, so the south is also a destination where we are reinforcing and where our presence is stronger.
What are your prospects for the summer season and 2025?
The outlook is positive for both the domestic and regional markets. Statistically, the domestic market has not been a growing market in recent months in terms of overall demand volumes, but it has been positive in terms of the company's positioning on key routes. Therefore, this will be positive in the coming months, both in the remainder of the corporate and mixed year, and in a summer season in which there are already very good sales.
And regionally there is a prospect of growth and departure of Argentine tourists to the region or abroad. And there we have a strong presence in Brazil. And in cities like Florianópolis, Rio, Santiago, Asunción and Lima we are doing very well. The projection is even better because surely if the frequencies from Brazil continue like this, we will operate two daily flights. We have two daily flights to Rio, increasing to three in the summer, and from the end of November we will resume the route with two daily flights to Florianópolis.
Various destinations participated in this event, and new routes can surely emerge from here…
Of course, there is a lot of interest from provincial states, from Argentina, in increasing frequencies or flying on new routes, and also from some regional ones. It is part of our company to be permanently evaluating these opportunities and deciding based on the market, conditions and demand, and that is what we are doing. It is a dynamic task and part of the company's characteristics is the service of reaching the passenger with the best rates through a smart model, where the passenger pays for what he uses, flies on the newest fleet in Latin America and with the best service.
