This weekend, the Tierra del Fuego stand at La Rural welcomed thousands of people who visited the Tierra del Fuego area to plan their vacations at the End of the World. With a wide variety of tourist offers, representatives of tourist services, travel agencies, accommodations and adventure tourism activities, provided information on the services offered by the Province, promoting its attractions and inviting people to enjoy this season in Tierra del Fuego.
At the stand located within the space of the Patagonia Argentina Agency, INFUETUR brought together providers in a space for the tourist promotion of the destination and the marketing of their products, organized together with the Ushuaia Bureau Agency, and the support of the Municipalities of Ushuaia, Río Grande and Tolhuin through their Tourism Secretaries.
The Vice Governor, Mónica Urquiza, together with the President of the Provincial Port Authority, Roberto Murcia, and the President of INFUETUR, Dante Querciali, were present at the opening ceremony and during the promotional activities at the Fair. In this regard, Querciali said that "the presence we maintain year after year, growing in the tourism promotion of the province, is important. The Fair attracts thousands of people for two days where the attractions of each region are exhibited, and then on Monday and Tuesday in an exclusive space for tourism professionals who make their appointments with our operators, carrying out commercial exchanges."
"This week in Buenos Aires we are organizing exclusive promotional actions for the destination, it is one of our main axes as an Institute, providing spaces for marketing, bringing together 250 operators from Buenos Aires, then the launch of the season and our participation in FIT, guaranteeing the Tierra del Fuego providers support and positioning within this great fair," he added.
In addition, the gastronomy and products of the province were promoted with tastings of Tierra del Fuego flavours for the FIT public, thanks to the accompaniment of chef Enrique Díaz from La Sirena y el Capitán, a gastronomic establishment in Almanza that made a Salmon Gravlax on a cracker with ginger lactonesa and mussel pâté, to be tasted with products from Jeremy Button Gintonería, chocolates from Laguna Negra and Towwora gin from Río Grande. Within the framework of FIT, Querciali and Urquiza held a meeting, together with the Secretary of Tourism of Ushuaia, Viviana Manfredotti, with authorities of the JetSMART airline linked to the connectivity of the destination on national and international routes for the upcoming summer and winter seasons.
On the other hand, the Vice Governor and the head of INFUETUR met with national authorities of the Hotel and Gastronomic Business Federation of the Argentine Republic (FEHGRA), together with members of the Board of Directors of the Hotel and Gastronomic Chamber of Tierra del Fuego, to plan joint actions related to the promotion of the End of the World destination.
The International Tourism Fair organized by FAEVYT and AVIABUE, brought together more than 1,700 exhibitors, with the participation of the 24 Argentine provinces, more than 50 countries from all regions of the world. This edition is expected to exceed 125 thousand visitors. This year, it featured new sectors such as FIT Outdoors, FIT Food and FIT Cruises, destinations for travel interests and trends, in addition to the FIT Tech sector to continue promoting tourism updating and innovation.
