Civitatis, the leading online platform for guided tours and excursions in Spanish, has seen exponential growth in Argentina so far in 2024, as a result of the company's strong commitment to the country.

“More and more Argentines are filling their trips with Civitatis experiences and this demand, which continues to rise, has great potential considering that our focus is on offering tours in Spanish, a feature highly valued by the Spanish-speaking population,” said Alberto Gutiérrez, CEO and creator of the company that aims to be the leader in the segment worldwide with more than 90,000 activities in 4,000 destinations spread across 160 countries.

Gutiérrez is one of the most renowned entrepreneurs in Spain, not only for finding the solution to the tangent need of every traveller which involves offering, in one place, the best experiences of each destination, but also for having positioned one of the most thriving digital platforms on the planet, valued among the next European unicorns.

Argentines have been familiar with and have contracted Civitatis' activities organically since its creation in 2008, a number that has increased considerably since 2022 when the company began an ambitious expansion plan in this market, as well as in other Latin American countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay and Chile, which involved, among other initiatives, the incorporation of regional managers, sales teams and promotion, communication and marketing actions.

“In 2024, more than 600,000 Argentines will travel with Civitatis, and the goal for 2025 is to double this figure, reaching 1.2 million Argentine travelers,” said Gutiérrez, during his visit to the country to participate in the Civitatis stand at the International Tourism Fair.

On the other hand, the executive added that "we continue to meet the objectives of strengthening our presence in the country and the region."

Looking ahead, “our goal is to continue increasing the flow of sales, driven not only by the end customer, but also through travel agencies, which are our main partners. In addition, we will continue investing in marketing and communication, expanding our regional teams with more human resources,” said the CEO.

Contribution to regional economies

Civitatis' commitment to the Argentine market represents a major contribution to regional economies, as it promotes local ventures in each destination, providing regional and international visibility that would be impossible to achieve on an individual basis, and also collaborates with the tourism sector by promoting destinations, encouraging international travelers to visit the attractions that Argentina has to offer.

Along these lines, for example, this year the platform added to its portfolio unique experiences in the country such as a visit to Maradona's House in La Paternal and an excursion to the Valley of Tears in Mendoza, where part of the plane from the Andes tragedy is located, among more than 200 new activities in 16 tourist destinations in Argentina, totaling almost 1,700 activities throughout the country and more than 6,500 in Latin America.

“Our goal is to continue incorporating rigorously selected, high-quality experiences and to expand our network of destinations both in Argentina, in the region and around the world,” added the businessman.

On the other hand, the company also prioritizes the creation of alliances with leading companies in the sector such as airlines, tour operators and other entities in the field to try to reach the largest number of travelers possible.

“Argentines are travellers by nature, eager to live memorable experiences, curious and interested in discovering new places and cultures. That is why Civitatis is the best option to fill your trip,” concluded Gutiérrez.

Global growth

On a global level, the company continues to grow at cruising speed. Last year it closed with more than ten million users worldwide and by 2024 it plans to reach fifteen million.

On the other hand, this year the company reached a historic milestone by surpassing 30,000 collaborating travel agencies worldwide, which underlines the strategic role of these agencies in its expansion model, especially in Latin America, a territory where it is focusing a very relevant part of its focus and resources, taking into account the potential of the region in terms of tourism and digitalization.
