Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) is proud to announce that eleven of its hotel-based restaurants in the region have been recognized for culinary excellence at the prestigious World Culinary Awards 2024. The awards ceremony, which took place on October 2 in Dubai, celebrated the best of the best in the culinary world, and Marriott restaurants stood out among the competition, taking home top honors in their respective categories.

“It is truly an honor for Marriott International to see so many of our CALA hotel restaurants recognized in the prestigious World Culinary Awards. This achievement would not be possible without the passion, creativity and dedication of our extraordinary chefs and culinary teams in the region,” said Thomas Rebler, Vice President, Food & Beverage, Marriott International CALA. “At Marriott, we strive to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests, and gastronomy is a fundamental part of that promise. These awards are a testament to our unwavering commitment to culinary excellence and inspire us to continue raising the bar for gastronomy in the hospitality industry.”

Among the winners is Terraço Jardins, at the Reinnasance Sao Paulo Hotel, which was recognized as the best hotel restaurant in Brazil 2024, and also as the best hotel restaurant in Latin America 2024. This restaurant pays homage to Brazilian cuisine, highlighting fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The menu, signed by Chef Raúl Vieira, brings out traditional flavors with influences from the countryside and the sea.

There's also Toro Riviera Maya by Richard Sandoval, at the St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya, awarded Best New Restaurant in Latin America 2024. Here Chef Sandoval presents an elevated yet approachable take on pan-Latin cuisine, emphasizing shareable plates and classic cocktails that highlight the vibrant flavors of Latin America.

Meanwhile, Karai at W Santiago, led by Chef Sebastián Jara, offers a sophisticated fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine, with meticulously crafted sushi and sashimi alongside bold South American dishes, all in an elegant, modern setting.
