Chile is showing itself to the world as a multifaceted destination in the latest edition of the World Travel Awards. The country received five nominations for destinations and tourism experiences at the national level, including the category of Best Green Destination in the World, which Chile has already won in 2022 and 2023 for its commitment to sustainability and nature conservation.

For the Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Pardo, “these nominations reflect the constant effort we have made to position Chile as a world-class tourist destination. We have a long-term vision to generate sustainable tourism that is friendly to the environment and also to the communities where each of our tourist destinations are located. This is why we launched the National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism in July.”

The authority also highlighted that “last year, we obtained important recognitions, such as Best Green Destination in the World and Best Adventure Destination in South America, consolidating Chile as a benchmark in unique and responsible experiences. This year, we are still in the race for these awards and each vote is an opportunity to show the world the best of our country. In addition, we are excited because in 2025 Chile will host the Adventure Travel World Summit, reaffirming our leadership in adventure tourism.”

In this edition of the World Travel Awards, Chile is competing in the categories of Best Green Destination (a crown it has held consecutively since 2022), Best Adventure Tourism Destination, Best Romantic Destination for the Atacama Desert, Best Nature Destination and Leading City for Santiago. Voting is open until this Sunday, October 20, and you can vote at chileestuyo.cl/votaxchile.

The national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez, called on people to vote for Chile in this competition, stating that “tourism is a driving force of economic and social development, so every vote counts so that our country continues to stand out internationally. Winning in these significant categories for our country would generate new development opportunities for the communities, companies and ventures that work to offer unique experiences to our visitors throughout the country.”
