The Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PROMPERÚ) and the airline Avianca signed a strategic alliance with the aim of promoting Peru as a tourist destination in the markets of Canada, Colombia, the United States and the United Kingdom.

As part of the actions focused on promoting the tourist attractions of the Lima and Cusco regions, a campaign will be carried out on various digital platforms and traditional media, in addition to visibility at Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport and London Heathrow International Airport, with the aim of reaching an exposure of more than 76 million impacts.

Between January and August 2024, Peru received 2,178,300 international tourists, of which 606,683 (27.8%) came from the markets impacted by this initiative. Therefore, these projects are essential to continue promoting international air connectivity and the mobilization of foreign travelers to the country.

This initiative is added to other actions carried out during 2024 by PROMPERÚ, in which it has been deploying the “Perú Wow” campaign, which appeals to the surprise and fascination that tourists express when discovering the wonders of Peru. This has sought to capture the attention of potential tourists in key markets such as Mexico, the United States, Spain, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Ecuador.

Likewise, it aligns with the purpose of Avianca, the leading airline in Colombia, Ecuador and Central America, which seeks to offer greater access and connectivity to and from the Americas. An example of this is the connectivity offered to tourists, as the airline offers 28 weekly frequencies between Bogotá and Lima, providing multiple daily options for travelers between both capitals.

In addition, Avianca has four weekly flights to Cusco, which facilitates direct access to one of Peru's main tourist destinations. This also allows Peruvian travelers to connect, via Bogotá, with the rest of the continent and other regions of the world through its more than 150 routes.
