New Executive Director for the Medellin Convention Bureau

Juliana Cardona Quirós, with more than 13 years of experience in public and private management, takes on the challenge of leading the Greater Medellín Conventions and Visitors Bureau

With an MBA in General Management, specialization in Political Communication and studies in Senior Management and Leadership, he has directed strategic projects in tourism, communications and business administration.

In her new role as Executive Director of the Bureau, Juliana has the mission of repositioning Medellín as a first-class destination for events, congresses and conventions. Her focus will be on promoting the offer, sales and marketing of the destination, working hand in hand with the members of the foundation and the Mayor's Office of Medellín. Her main challenges will be to strengthen the recognition of the city at a national and international level, attract high-impact events that generate economic and tourist development and attract tourists that generate value for the City - Region.

The joint work between the public and private sectors will be essential to achieve the proposed challenges and objectives, following the strategic guidelines of the Mayor of Medellín through the Secretariat of Tourism and Entertainment in terms of tourism promotion, the internationalization of Silletera Culture and the positioning of the city brand, “Medellín, everything flourishes here.” Juliana will lead the articulation of these efforts to generate opportunities for sustained growth for the city through her leadership role in the foundation.

With a deep experience in tourism promotion, which includes knowledge of more than 90 municipalities in Antioquia and key roles in the Mayor's Office of Medellín and Plaza Mayor, Juliana is prepared to take the Bureau to another level. Her focus on creating strategic alliances, her ability to generate value through marketing and sales, and her long-term vision will be key to continue projecting Medellín and Antioquia as a world-class destination in Meetings Tourism and Vacation Tourism.
