With a special hydration space for women who practice sports in the Centenario Plaza of ParqueMet, the Undersecretariat of Tourism, the Undersecretariat of Housing and Sernatur celebrated this Sunday the 20th the launch of the new Turismo Mujer program, specially designed so that women between 18 and 59 years old can travel throughout Chile with a state subsidy.
These are 3-day, 2-night, all-inclusive tourist packages, with destinations – this season – to Elqui Valley, Colchagua and Cachapoal. During these trips, the beneficiaries will also be able to enjoy wellness tourism experiences, wine tourism, astrotourism and nature explorations, among other benefits specially designed for an entertaining break for women.
The Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Pardo, highlighted that “for the first time we have a public tourism policy focused solely on women. Although our programs aim to de-seasonalize tourism and generate economic impact in priority destinations in the country, they also have other impacts, such as the environmental impact, in raising awareness, in getting to know our country and the wonderful nature it has and, of course, a key focus which is social, where tourism occurs for those who carry out the activity. In that framework, we wanted to develop this women's tourism program.”
Meanwhile, the national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez, called on “everyone to learn about this new Turismo Mujer program and invite their friends, family, and neighbors to get information, learn about the trips, and pre-register to be eligible for this adventure that Sernatur designed especially for women looking for unique experiences. The process is very easy, they only need to pre-register on the form on the Turismo Mujer Instagram and they will be able to enjoy an unforgettable trip with a subsidy, which also includes benefits specially designed for a well-deserved and entertaining break among women.”
Turismo Mujer is a new type of travel that responds to the need for a line specially designed for women, who can opt for trips to destinations in the regions of Coquimbo (Elqui Valley) and O'Higgins (Colchagua and Cachapoal), during October, November and December of this year.
