In this context, Travel2latam spoke with Percy Morales, Head of Sales for Sky Airline in Peru.
What is the company's structure and general vision?
It is a company of Chilean origin with 23 years in the market, we have been in Peru since 2019, and we have currently been awarded as the Best Lowcost in Latin America. The two main hubs are Lima and Santiago, and from Lima we have all the connectivity both within Peru and abroad. We have routes to Cancun, Punta Cana, Miami, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Montevideo from the capital of Peru.
In addition, we focus on cost savings, which is why our main focus is price. Having flights with affordable prices, good quality and punctuality.
Is the fleet a new one?
All our planes are new. Our fleet is Airbus, which is the new generation. These planes fly all our routes, between Lima and Santiago, and at the end of the year we will have four more arrivals. This makes us the newest fleet, and by having these planes we save on fuel costs, which allows us to have a low price for the public.
From the passenger's point of view, do they provide any benefits?
We actually have a low-cost format and the price is the basis for the flights. If the passenger arrives and sits down, there is no service on board as such, but there is a la carte sales where you can buy something to eat or drink.
What is the most requested route from Peru as a hub?
Cusco is our strong point as an emblem of Peru and as a main tourist destination. And internationally, people see Punta Cana as a vacation spot.
We have a lot of inbound tourism, vacation tourism, domestic tourism and also a lot of passengers from abroad. We have many alliances with agencies abroad. We have markets in Brazil, the USA and Chile. In Argentina we also have travel agencies with which we work with large tourism groups.
We sell tourist destinations through travel agencies. The agencies bring the passengers to Lima and we take care of them from Lima.
