The National Secretariat for Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Italy have agreed to implement a joint Action Plan in the field of Tourism in order to expand tourism relations.
The document was signed by the Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte, and the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi.
The Italian ambassador to Paraguay, Marcello Fondi, participated in the event and expressed his satisfaction with this agreement that further unites two sister nations.
For her part, the head of Senatur expressed the interest of both parties in promoting projects that benefit local communities and that guarantee that tourism is a positive force for economic and social development.
“We are convinced that this collaboration will not only enrich our tourism offerings, but will also foster a deeper understanding between our peoples, and will give us the opportunity to prepare ourselves to offer memorable experiences to our visitors,” he added.
Within the framework of cooperation, they established the exchange of experiences and good practices to promote the development of sustainable tourism and tourism innovation as key factors of competitiveness.
In the area of information exchange, they also stressed the importance of promoting cooperation in sectors such as the tourism intelligence system, the tourism information system and the quality model.
Another area that will benefit will be technical assistance in relation to the protection and conservation of natural resources and cultural heritage, and the marketing of tourism products, particularly in the sectors of tourism and management of historical heritage for tourism purposes.
The meeting took place at the Italian diplomatic headquarters in Paraguay.
