The upcoming long holiday of Protestant Churches Day and All Saints Day, which will take place between Thursday 31 October and Sunday 3 November, is anticipated to be a period of great tourist activity in our country.

According to projections provided by the Undersecretariat of Tourism and Sernatur, between October 30 and November 2, 1,184,434 total overnight trips will be made, which represents an increase of 11.4% in trips compared to the same holiday in 2023, and 27.8% more than the holiday in 2019.

These dates have proven to be an opportunity for the tourism industry. In 2019, 927,005 total trips were recorded during the same holiday, which constituted 18.4% of the total trips made during October.

The Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Pardo Lagos, referred to the subject, saying that “the last long weekend of the year with a projection of more than one million one hundred thousand trips is good news for the industry, for the economic development of the regions and communities, in addition to consolidating the recovery of internal travel, compared to pre-pandemic figures, as well as the figures for the year 2023. We invite those who travel during these dates to plan, learn about and give themselves the opportunity to tour the territories they visit and enjoy the local gastronomy.”

To promote domestic tourism during the last long weekend of the year, the National Tourism Service is keeping the Holiday Experts campaign active on social media, inviting people to opt for experiences that can be enjoyed throughout the country.

In this regard, the national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez, said that “once again we are noticing that Chileans are betting on national destinations as their travel plan. These long holidays are ideal for those getaways and taking a break in the region itself or in the closest ones, because the tourist offer is wide and for all tastes: with the Holiday Experts campaign of our national promotion brand Chile es Tuyo, you will be able to find the best recommendations of destinations and experiences throughout the country, with activities, events, sights and useful information so that everyone can take advantage of these four days of rest.”
