From November 5 to 10, Promperú will be present at China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, one of the most important import fairs in the world. This participation underlines Peru's commitment to strengthening trade ties with China, its main trading partner in Asia and one of the main destinations for Peruvian exports.
The Peruvian delegation will present the exportable offer of key sectors such as food, fishery products, alpaca-based products, tourism offers and investment opportunities, with the aim of consolidating and expanding Peru's positioning in the Chinese market.
Participation in CIIE 2024 provides an invaluable platform to promote emblematic Peruvian products such as superfoods , the offer of fishery and aquaculture products, as well as textiles, crafts and high-quality manufactures. These products have been well received in the Chinese market, driven by Peru's recognition as a nation that offers high-value and high-quality products.
China is currently Peru's largest trading partner, accounting for approximately 30% of all Peruvian exports. Thanks to the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, in force since 2010, bilateral trade has grown steadily, strengthening a relationship based on the exchange of goods and services, and cooperation in strategic areas such as technology and agricultural innovation.
PROMPERÚ highlights that, in addition to increasing trade in goods, there are vast opportunities for Chinese investment in strategic Peruvian sectors, such as infrastructure, energy, mining, and agricultural projects. These investments represent an opportunity for mutual economic growth, while promoting the development of sustainable projects with social impact in both nations.
During the fair, a series of activities will be held, including tastings, exhibitions, and activations for participants, which are expected to foster new commercial relations and consolidate strategic alliances with the Asian market. Peru's tourism potential will also be presented, highlighting attractions such as Machu Picchu and the Amazon, seeking to encourage the interest of Chinese tourists in unique Peruvian destinations.
With this participation in CIIE 2024, Peru reaffirms its commitment to strengthen trade and investment ties with China, looking towards a future where cooperation and economic integration are the key to growth and shared development.
