Gastronomic Tourism: a driver of diversification and economic inclusion worldwide

The World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) and its affiliate member, the Basque Culinary Center (BCC), together with the Government of Bahrain, will organize the 9th United Nations World Tourism Forum on Gastronomy Tourism on 18-19 November 2024 in Manama, Bahrain

Under the theme “Gastronomic Tourism: a driver of economic diversification and inclusion”, the Forum will bring together, through round tables, presentations, master classes and thematic visits, international destinations and experts to explore the transformative potential of Gastronomic Tourism to become a driver of economic diversification and inclusion, promoting social and environmental sustainability and improving regional cohesion and the resilience of local communities.

The Forum, which will be held for the first time in the Middle East, will bring together world leaders, policy makers, industry experts and renowned chefs to reveal how gastronomic tourism can also build a strong image for destinations, through innovative practices and initiatives around the world.

The United Nations World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism was created with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences between experts in tourism and gastronomy, identifying good practices and promoting gastronomic tourism as a factor in the development of destinations.
