In this context, Travel2latam spoke with Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico.
What is it like to participate in an event like this?
I am very happy to be in this pavilion where Mexico is with a lot of promotional dynamics. The great expectation now is precisely the Mayan Train, since it is its first marketing fair where visitors and interested parties will be able to find all the information. We are here precisely making contact and talking with tour operators and airlines in order to generate a set of tourist packages.
How do you feel about participating in an event of this magnitude under the new administration?
Very positively. The goal is to show the greatness of Mexico and its people. If you look closely, it is a very colorful stand, where you will find images of our magical towns, our gastronomy and the native peoples. And it is precisely the Mayan Train, where you can learn about the context of each town and what makes Mexico different.
Furthermore, today we have a great infrastructure, not only the Mayan Train. We have six new theme parks and we have new hotels. From now on, we will be in a link with the international promotion of the Mexico brand, exposing it on every possible occasion.
