Festuris Interviews: Ronaldo Costa Beber, CEO of Gramado Parks
Travel2Latam: What were the main challenges you faced when taking over the leadership of Gramado Parks during the recovery process?
Ronaldo Costa Beber: When taking over Gramado Parks, the main challenges were drastic cost reduction, the constant search for incremental revenue and ensuring close and transparent communication with suppliers, partners and employees.
Travel2Latam: How does Gramado Parks plan to continue innovating and maintaining competitiveness in the hospitality and entertainment sector in the coming years?
Ronaldo Costa Beber: Gramado Parks is recognized for its pioneering spirit and unique experiences. We will maintain our focus on always being ahead of the market and seeking differentiation through unique experiences.
Travel2Latam: Acquamotion, the first indoor water park in Latin America, has been a huge success. What are the plans to expand or replicate this model in other regions?
Ronaldo Costa Beber: Acquamotion has won the hearts of visitors for its thermal waters and the possibility of enjoying a water park in Gramado 12 months a year. We will soon be launching Acquaventura, a water park on Praia dos Carneiros, in Pernambuco. This park has a slightly different proposal, but it will certainly delight its visitors as well.
Travel2Latam: How is Gramado Parks positioning itself in relation to sustainability and environmental impact, considering the growing size of its operations?
Ronaldo Costa Beber: Gramado Parks has several socio-environmental initiatives. For example, all of our hotels in operation have the LEED seal (certification for sustainable enterprises). In addition, our hotels also offer charging for electric cars. Several Gramado Parks properties participate in Tampinha Legal, a project that collects plastic caps and donates them to social entities. At Acquamotion, the extracted water is sanitized with ozone, to preserve its therapeutic properties. In addition, there is an external temperature control that prevents wasting energy in heating the park.
In the social sphere, we encourage sports, carry out cultural projects through the Film Festival Museum and promote training courses for the communities in which we operate. We recently delivered the revitalization of the Tamandaré waterfront, among other projects.
Travel2Latam: With the growing demand for unique experiences in tourism, what are Gramado Parks' next big bets to surprise visitors?
Ronaldo Costa Beber: Gramado Parks is a great case in experience tourism. To continue like this, we will always be seeking to improve existing attractions and provide even more enchanting experiences for our guests, owners and visitors.
