LEVEL concludes the 2024 summer season with record numbers of people transported and reaffirming, once again, its position as the leading long-haul operator at Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
This summer season, IAG's Barcelona-based long-haul company has transported a total of 579,935 people, which represents an increase of 31% compared to the summer of 2023 and in line with the growth in seats offered in the same season. This demonstrates the consolidation of LEVEL's business model and its commitment to the connectivity of the Barcelona-El Prat intercontinental hub.
In fact, LEVEL already became the leading long-haul operator at Barcelona-El Prat Airport in 2023. This leadership for the second consecutive year in terms of capacity is reflected precisely in its strategic markets during the summer period, with one in four seats offered between Barcelona and the American continent being from LEVEL.
This solid offering has been reinforced with the addition of a sixth aircraft to the LEVEL fleet, which responds to the company's growth plan and which plans to reach eight units by 2026. Also thanks to the opening of new routes such as Barcelona-Miami, which, given the good expectations and demand forecasts, allowed its operations to be extended on an annual basis even before its launch; the daily flight to Boston, Los Angeles and New York during the summer season; in addition to the consolidation of routes with a longer history such as the one between New York (JFK) and Barcelona, where LEVEL has been the largest operator in the market in terms of the number of seats offered in the summer period.
According to Lucía Adrover, Chief Commercial & Network Officer of LEVEL: “The balance of this summer season is undoubtedly very positive, thanks to the solid offer that we have made available to our clientele and which demonstrates, once again, LEVEL's ongoing commitment to contribute to the development of the intercontinental hub of Barcelona.”
Last summer, which ended at the end of October, the airline connected Barcelona with the cities of New York, San Francisco, Miami, Boston and Los Angeles in the United States, and with Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile in South America, non-stop. On four of its seven routes, it was the sole operator in the market.
LEVEL is in the process of obtaining its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), a crucial milestone in the company's development plan that will allow it to pursue an ambitious growth plan in the United States and Latin America, two key markets for the airline.
