In order to strengthen ties between Peru and the Asian giant, PROMPERÚ has collaborated in the production of the documentary From the Great Wall to Machu Picchu, produced by the CGTN (China Global Television Network) channel. This production, which premieres today, November 17, will be available internationally through the CGTN signal, and in Peru, it will be broadcast on the platforms of the National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP).
The documentary invites viewers to reflect on the shared destiny of humanity, highlighting the similarities between the civilizations of the Asian country and the Inca, such as the recognition of the sun as a deity and the use of gold as a symbol of worship. Through a visual tour, two emblematic monuments are contrasted: the Great Wall of China and Machu Picchu, both representatives of a unique millennial and cultural legacy.
In the trailer, you can see the impressive majesty of the Great Wall, extended throughout the Chinese territory, and the enigmatic citadel of Machu Picchu. Through this contrast, the project seeks to highlight common points and foster greater brotherhood between both nations, promoting cultural exchange and a connection between their peoples.
Promotional strategy to attract Chinese tourists
According to PROMPERÚ figures, up to September of this year, the arrival of 26,375 Chinese tourists has been recorded, which represents a huge growth of 91% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The documentary will be available in six languages: Chinese, English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian, with an upcoming release in Quechua, bringing this production to global audiences and reinforcing interest in tourism to Machu Picchu and other iconic destinations in our country.
This collaboration reflects PROMPERÚ's commitment to consolidate Peru as a priority destination for Chinese tourists, taking advantage of the growing interest of this market. This production is positioned as a tool to show the world the richness of our country, encouraging more world travelers to live the unique experience of discovering Machu Picchu and other destinations in Peru.
