In this context, Travel2latam spoke with Jerusha Rasmijn, Director of the Aruba Convention Bureau.
What are the expectations and objectives with which Aruba arrives at this important event?
We are happy to be here at IBTM, the last show of this year, and very happy with the results of all the events that happened during 2025 for all markets.
The US is doing very well and we have more flights with Latin America. In addition, we are already seeing the results for 2025 as a result of all the efforts made by the Aruba team to promote the destination and generate more flights.
Today there are more options for groups to get to their destination and better prices. That was the big challenge, because it is always very expensive to get there. Today, with all the flight offers available, less is spent on transportation and more of the budget is used to enjoy the island.
What do you think 2025 will be like for Aruba?
We are very excited, there are hotels that are going to open. We have Iberostar that is already opening in December, also a St. Regis, and there are contracts that are being signed for 2026-2027. We want to reach Latin America more, because there is opportunity, availability and incentives to offer them.
Why should you consider Aruba for a convention, event or corporate trip?
In Aruba, the climate is almost perfect, we are outside the hurricane zone all year round, we don't have a rainy season and it is a very safe island. No visa is required to enter and the people are very friendly. That climate, those people and that security give the perfect touch to a successful program. In addition, we speak four languages, so that barrier does not exist on our island either.
