With the arrival of more than 40,000 visitors from Brazil and Argentina, the event had a significant economic impact that reflects direct benefits for key sectors such as hotels, gastronomy, transportation, trade, and other service providers, in addition to the global impact on the tourism sector.

Tourists came to enjoy football and to explore our traditions, our gastronomy and our tourist destinations.

It is a clear example of how event and sports tourism became the most dynamic and profitable sectors for the Paraguayan economy.

Major sporting events boost local infrastructure and position our country on the world map as an ideal destination, attracting tourists interested in enjoying both the spectacles and the cultural and natural riches that the country offers.

In this sense, Paraguay has shown that it is prepared to host this type of venture, an inter-institutional work that began a long time ago. To this end, a solid collaboration was established between the National Secretariat of Tourism, the National Secretariat of Sports, the Paraguayan Olympic Committee and the Sports Federations, with a rich agenda of world events for the coming years.

The planning also had, from the beginning, the support of the Office of the First Lady, the Presidency of the Republic, and the important participation of the private sector through the Asunción Convention & Visitors Bureau, Itapúa Paraguay Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Ciudad del Este and Region Convention & Visitors Bureau, among others.

One of the next sporting events will be the Pan American Games Asunción 2025, which will bring together more than 4,000 athletes from 41 countries, a unique opportunity to once again show Paraguay's hospitality and organizational capabilities. Also of note is the World Rally, a major event for motor sport enthusiasts, which will take place for three consecutive years in the department of Itapúa.

In addition, this week until November 30, Paraguay will host the South American Artistic Gymnastics Championship, which will be held at the Paraguayan Gymnastics Federation (FPG). The event will mark a milestone for artistic gymnastics in the region, as it will bring together delegations from 11 countries, with 350 athletes and 40 judges, putting Paraguay back in the spotlight. Also, from December 1 to 7, the 19th Intergovernmental Session of the UNESCO Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage will be held in Asunción.

Senatur continues to work hard to establish the country as a preferred destination for this type of event, which constitutes one of the main sources of income for the country, and provides a direct spillover to all sectors of the population linked to tourism.

In addition to being fundamental for the development of regional sport, they are crucial for promoting tourism and attracting more visitors. As the country continues to position itself as a destination for international sporting events, the tourism industry is strengthening, offering new opportunities for economic growth and visibility in the international spotlight.
