2024 is coming to an end and, beyond preparing for a 2025 full of energy and great projects, it is time to be thankful for what we have received. And from Aruba, there is no doubt about it, there is much to be thankful for. 2024 has been a key year for the Happy Island in Latin America and Chile is one of the markets where there are the most reasons for giving back.
The “Aruba Effect” campaign has been a success in all markets: a 70% increase in overnight stays in the destination and a repeat traveller rate of 26% have been recorded. In Chile alone, the growth in travellers this year has been 76%. It is as clear as the crystal-clear waters of Eagle Beach: more and more Chileans are discovering the many facets of Aruba!
And what better way to celebrate this good news than to bring a vivid sample of the Happy Island and this spectacular Caribbean to the latitudes of Santiago. That was what happened on November 27 at Aruba Night 2024; a space created to thank tour operators, media outlets and influencers for their constant support of the destination in its efforts to position itself as the ideal alternative in the Caribbean.
“We wanted to bring a small sample of Aruba's experiences to all those who have supported us in this wonderful 2024. This was an opportunity to say goodbye to the year and welcome the next one, bringing a little piece of Aruba to the hearts of each of our business partners and media outlets, who are also part of the success achieved,” said Álvaro Caballero, director of the Aruba Tourism Office in Chile.
In its 70th year, the Aruba Carnival was one of the special guests at this colorful evening of thanksgiving, where attendees were also reminded of some of the unique values of the Happy Island: its award-winning beaches, its great climate all year round, its diverse gastronomy and activities for all ages, and its many specialized events—sports, music, gastronomy, culture—including the brand new Aruba Fashion Week, which runs from November 29 to December 1.
To top it off, Aruba will welcome the summer of 2025 with the addition of a fifth LATAM Airlines frequency on the Lima-Aruba route, which equally benefits the Chilean market. This increase is in response to the success of this operation that began on December 2, 2023 and which opens a 2025 full of good prospects for Aruba.
