Meliá Hotels International has just announced the expansion of its INNSiDE by Meliá brand in the Dominican Republic, considered a strategic destination for the company, where it plans to open two new establishments in Punta Cana. These will also be the first Meliá franchised hotels in the Caribbean, a significant milestone in the group's expansion in the region.

The INNSiDE by Meliá brand, which currently has 45 hotels in Europe, Asia and America, offers an informal and affordable lifestyle experience in urban and holiday destinations around the world, adapting with flexibility and innovation to the expectations of the contemporary traveller, whether for leisure or business.

INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown and INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay are two new construction projects, developed by the Spanish company Vivantia Homes, which will open their doors in 2027, both conveniently located a few kilometers away from the Punta Cana International Airport. The first (290 rooms) is located in the urban and central core of Punta Cana, surrounded by different commercial areas, daytime and nighttime entertainment and residential projects, in a family and safe environment. For its part, INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay (186 rooms) will be located on Arena Gorda Beach, one of the longest beaches in Punta Cana, lined with palm trees and lush vegetation, bathed by turquoise blue waters and very popular for water sports.

Nature lovers can also explore the Ojos Indígenas Ecological Park, a private reserve that offers trails to freshwater lagoons. In addition, the area is home to several sites of cultural and historical interest, such as Altos de Chavón, a replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean villa, and Saona Island, which is part of the Parque Nacional del Este, renowned for its stunning natural beauty.
Both hotels will enjoy a varied gastronomic offering, including a restaurant, café and grab & go service, as well as a wellness area, meeting rooms with inspiring design, a swimming pool, a gym and a cinema. With a focus on innovation and functionality, the INNSiDE by Meliá hotels are designed to serve as social and professional meeting points. They offer options such as healthy drinks, yoga sessions, bicycle tours, modern gyms and meeting rooms that boost creativity. In addition, the brand celebrates local culture in each of its destinations by organizing a calendar of events or exhibiting the work of local artists.

Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, commented: "We want to reinforce our leadership in the Caribbean with a diverse and personalized hotel offering for the new generation of travelers, and we believe that INNSiDE by Meliá perfectly complements our current portfolio in the Dominican Republic, a strategic country for our group in the Caribbean."

Meliá Hotels International currently operates in Punta Cana with its Meliá Hotels & Resorts and Paradisus by Meliá brands, and is about to open its first Zel hotel outside of Spain and the third of this young brand created by Meliá and Rafa Nadal.
