In the municipality of Tubará, 27 km southwest of Barranquilla, Colombia, tourists find good beaches where they can sunbathe and practice water sports.

Puerto Velero is home to a marina where sailors from all over the world can dock their sailboats and yachts and receive accommodation and maintenance services, among others. The site is outside the hurricane zone.

On the other hand, on the banks of the Loretoyacu River, whose waters are black due to plant decomposition, is Puerto Nariño, a quiet town where about 7,700 people live, most of them from indigenous ethnic groups.

The bright colours of the facades of the wooden houses and the fact that there are no cars in the area are striking. The town offers accommodation and restaurant services.
