For Paraguay, this connectivity, which is added at a regional level with the Brazilian cities of Campinas, Curitiba, Recife and Florianópolis, reflects the confidence in our country. It will facilitate the access of Brazilian tourists to Paraguay, but will also open new doors for cultural and commercial exchange.
The event was attended by the ambassador and consul of Paraguay in Curitiba, Maria Amarilla; the ambassador of Brazil in Paraguay, José Antonio Marcondes de Carvalho; the national secretary of the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil, Carlos Henrique Menezes Sobral; and the director of Civil Aeronautics of Dinac, José Luis Chavez.
Representing Azul were the manager of Institutional Relations, César Grandolfo; and the general manager of Malla- Strategic Planning and Alliances, Vítor Silva; in addition to representatives of the national private tourism sector and special guests.
The Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte, sent her greetings, and on her behalf, the General Director of Tourism Management, Carmen Silva, highlighted the connectivity strategy promoted by the National Government, through the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur), the National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (Dinac), and coordinated with airline entrepreneurs and tourism authorities in Brazil.
“We are very pleased with the public-private work we have done to reconnect our capital by air to Brazilian cities, and this is just the beginning of a stage of growth and development in the tourism sector and in our economy,” he added.
Azul, Brazil's largest airline by number of flights and cities served, will initially serve the Asunción-Campinas and Curitiba routes, for the time being, with permanent services twice a week, with an increase in frequencies planned to begin in March 2025.
It will also have seasonal services during the 2024/2025 summer peak season, to Recife, starting on December 15, and to Florianópolis, starting on December 18.
From its hubs in Campinas (Viracopos) and Curitiba, Paraguayan passengers will be able to connect to the company's entire route network within Brazil, as well as to international destinations, such as Fort Lauderdale, USA, and Lisbon, Portugal.
