After announcing the opening of its 500th property in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region, Marriott International is preparing for a 2025 full of new developments. With the arrival of well-known brands to iconic destinations and new segments such as all-inclusive, the properties that will open in the coming months promise unparalleled experiences aligned with new trends for all types of travel.
Notable openings for 2025 include Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection Resort (Q1, 2025) in Riviera Maya, Mexico, where refined luxury and nature will blend in total harmony. Just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport, this all-inclusive, adults-only resort, with a mangrove reserve and the waters of the Mexican Caribbean as a backdrop, will become a sanctuary of relaxation. Meanwhile, for travelers seeking an independent and private stay within the Mexican Caribbean, coming soon are Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy Bloom Tulum (Q1, 2025), part of a new concept of premium and luxury accommodations, with a host available 24 hours a day.
Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve (Q1, 2025), on Costa Rica's Papagayo Peninsula, will give travelers an immersive experience in one of the most biodiverse areas on the planet. Its name, which means 'garden' in Chorotega, is more than appropriate for a place where the expression 'pura vida' applies in the most literal way. With estates that evoke the traditional haciendas of Guanacaste, a hanging bridge and unique views of Costa Rican nature, the property promises guests of its 107 rooms an exclusive look at a unique place in the world.
In the Dominican Republic, Marriott International is preparing the arrival of St. Regis and W Hotels, two of its iconic luxury brands. The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort (Q1, 2025), about 20 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, will boast 200 comfortable rooms, including options with private balconies; and nine dining options, as well as The Amber Room bar, ideal for relaxing with a cigar and a drink. The resort is surrounded by a 6.7-kilometer golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus and recognized by GolfWeek as one of the best in the area. Meanwhile, W Hotels will debut in the country with W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive (Q2, 2025), which will make history as the brand's first all-inclusive hotel globally. With 340 rooms and a wide range of food and beverage spaces, including a speakeasy-style bar, this hotel will guarantee stays full of fun and spontaneity.
Likewise, other Caribbean destinations are preparing the opening of a series of properties focused on the premium and luxury market. Of particular note is Barbados Collection, the company's collection of hotels in Barbados, which will be revolutionizing the all-inclusive offering under the Luxury Collection and Autograph Collection brands with the reopening of Treasure Beach, Autograph Collection (December 2024) and The House, Autograph Collection (Q1, 2025); as well as Colony Club, Luxury Collection (Q3 2025) and Tamarind, Autograph Collection (Q4, 2025). Also in the works is the arrival of Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos (Q1, 2025), a secluded paradise where the turquoise waters of the British Caribbean shine; and The St. Regis Aruba Resort (Q1, 2025).
Beyond beach destinations, Marriott International will also have a greater presence in Latin America's major cities. Following Westin Hotels & Resorts' successful foray into Brazil in 2022, the brand will expand in the country with the opening of The Westin Hotel São Paulo (Q2, 2025). The new 187-room and suite property will be located in the vibrant Itaim Bibi district, within a multi-use complex with residential and commercial space. Another legendary brand, W Hotels, will arrive in this city in 2025 with W São Paulo (Q1, 2025). Located in the heart of Vila Olímpia, this property will vibrate to the rhythm of the great metropolis with its panoramic views, modern design, and the energy of DJs who will liven up the environment. The hotel will also offer easy access to several points of interest in the city, such as Parque do Povo and Avenida Faria Lima.
With these openings and other properties to be announced soon, Marriott International demonstrates its commitment to offering the best and most distinguished hospitality in the region, anticipating the needs of each guest. In addition, by staying at any of the properties in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, members of this travel program will accumulate points for each night of their stay, which they can redeem for exclusive hotel experiences, airline miles and numerous other travel experiences.
