Rio de Janeiro prepares to welcome 2025 with its iconic New Year's Eve party

Every year, the world-famous “Revéillon” in Rio de Janeiro attracts thousands of people, ready to welcome the new year with one of the most iconic and vibrant celebrations on the planet. The party, held on the iconic Copacabana beach, is a unique event where the city dresses in white to welcome the new year, with an atmosphere full of music, fireworks and an atmosphere of hope and joy.

Rio's New Year's Eve is much more than a party; it is a cultural event that symbolizes unity, hope and renewal. This year, like every December, Copacabana will be the main stage where more than two million people will gather to enjoy one of the largest fireworks displays in the world, accompanied by live music and the energy that only Rio de Janeiro knows how to offer. Confirmed shows and artists

On Copacabana Beach, the epicenter of the party, the main stage will be “Etapa Río” in front of the iconic Copacabana Palace, with star performances:

19:00 – Opening with DJ: The rhythm and energy begins to set at dusk, preparing us for what is to come.

20:00 – Caetano Veloso & Gal Costa: Two of the greatest exponents of Brazilian music take the stage in a vibrant tribute to bossa nova and popular music. A musical journey through the greatest hits of these musical giants.

22:00 – Ivete Sangalo: The “Diva of Brazil” will blow up the stage with her unmistakable energy and her repertoire of hits that include samba, axé, and Brazilian popular music. Ivete is, without a doubt, one of the most anticipated artists of the night.

00:12 – Anitta: The queen of carioca funk and international pop music, Anitta, will kick off 2024 with an explosive performance. With her overwhelming charisma, Anitta promises to thrill the crowd with a show of lights, dance and music.

02:00 – Xand Avião: Xand will bring his unmistakable energy to the party. A tribute to the roots of northeastern Brazil and an invitation to endless dancing.

03:30 – Unidos do Viradouro: The legendary samba school Unidos do Viradouro closes the night with one of the most anticipated performances: a display of samba, dance and colour that will reflect the true essence of the Rio Carnival.


In addition to the main stage in Copacabana, other parts of the city will be filled with music and joy, with artists such as Marcelo D2, Thales Roberto and other big names in Brazilian and world music. From the Sambadrome in Rio to the Lagoa Bridge, the entire city becomes a place full of varied rhythms and top-level shows.

Fireworks show:

At midnight, as the clock strikes the start of 2025, fireworks light up the sky over Rio de Janeiro in one of the most impressive fireworks displays in the world. Thousands of people on Copacabana Beach gather to experience this magical moment, as the bright colours reflect off the sea, creating an atmosphere of collective wonder and celebration. Copacabana: The main fireworks show will be held in front of Copacabana Palace, with 10 rafts and 12 minutes of an incredible pyromusical show designed by Daniel Lopes.

Flamengo: There will also be a show with 3 ferries.

Penha Church: In the North Zone, you can enjoy another show.

Barra de Tijuca: 12 spots spread along the coast, with private performances in collaboration with Riotur. Some of the highlights include the Barra Breakwater and several hotels such as the Radisson and Hilton Barra.
