The International Tourism Fair, FITUR, held from 22 to 26 January at IFEMA MADRID, will open its doors to language tourism with the new edition of FITUR Lingua. This event, organised in collaboration with FEDELE (Spanish Federation of Schools of Spanish as a Foreign Language), will bring together professionals, institutions and companies from the sector with the aim of highlighting the language as a driving force for cultural, educational and economic development.
Consolidated since its creation in 2021, FITUR Lingua, on Wednesday 22 January and under the motto 'Language as a tourist asset: challenges and trends' will address the strategic pillars for the evolution of this constantly growing sector. In addition, it will have a networking area for FEDELE federated centres that will be able to interact with agents from different tourist segments interested in linguistic tourism.
FITUR Lingua: program preview
The first block, 'Fundamentals of the Sector: Research and Database for Language Tourism', will present the importance of having reliable data and sector studies, including an analysis of the preliminary FEDELE 2024 report. Meanwhile, 'Challenges of Language Tourism: Transforming Challenges into Growth Opportunities' will discuss how to turn challenges, such as seasonality and geopolitics, into opportunities for innovation and growth.
