LATAM and Aerolíneas Argentinas' subsidiaries in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru have announced codeshare agreements to connect domestic and regional routes in their respective countries.
These agreements include the joint marketing of more than 140 destinations in South America, reaching 55 domestic destinations in Brazil, 37 in Argentina, 21 in Peru, 19 in Colombia and 8 in Ecuador, as well as regional routes between Brazil/Colombia/Paraguay/Peru/Uruguay and Argentina; offering a more agile travel experience and giving customers greater options.
In addition, these agreements will allow the reciprocal redemption and accumulation of points/miles through the companies' frequent flyer programs, benefiting 48 million LATAM Pass members and more than 4 million Aerolíneas Plus members.
“Travel options for customers are expanding, reaching multiple destinations in Argentina and the region. These agreements provide greater benefits due to the extensive network of destinations that Aerolíneas Argentinas has, which strengthens the flight connectivity of the LATAM group in the region,” said Soledad Berrios, Director of Strategic Alliances for the LATAM group.
For his part, Leandro Serino, Manager of Network Planning, Schedules and Alliances at Aerolíneas Argentinas, added: “This agreement will allow us to strengthen our Aerolíneas Plus program and expand the range of destinations in the region for our passengers, in addition to giving LATAM customers the opportunity to take advantage of the entire range of Aerolíneas Argentinas local flights.”
The codeshare agreements are subject to approval by the relevant authorities and their implementation will begin in the coming months.
