“We are going to promote a new model that allows us to be more competitive internationally, but that is also designed with a human face and then be a city with memorable experiences, that promotes sustainable tourism, because we are going to enter into a frontal fight from 2025 against the climate change in the Metropolitan District of Quito, which will help us improve the quality of life for all residents of the capital”, said Etzon Romo, general manager of Quito Tourism.
The manager of the municipal company highlighted that there is persistent work to transform “the most beautiful city in the world” into a smart and safe tourist destination (DTI), based on coordination with the Spanish entity Segittur, an international pioneer in the DTI field.
“With a new model, we seek to adapt to new trends with the use of new technologies and tools that allow us to innovate in tourist visits,” said Etzon Romo, who also highlighted the wide range of tourist attractions offered by the Ecuadorian capital, especially its natural attractions in areas such as the Chocó Andino or the Hidden Route.
