This Christmas, Iberia will increase the number of seats available to make it easier for its customers to travel during these special dates. Between Latin America and Europe, from December 20 to January 7, the airline will operate 890 flights, which means around 290,000 seats.

Meanwhile, overall, Iberia will operate a total of 5,081 flights on these same dates, which translates into 1,126,000 seats.

The new winter destinations Salzburg, Innsbruck, Tromso and Rovaniemi, together with the most iconic European capitals, London, Paris and Rome, are the most popular destinations in the coming days, followed by Geneva, Zurich and Prague, where the caliber of the aircraft has been increased to meet the high demand at this time.

Snow destinations are a hit this year. Salzburg and Innsbruck in Austria, where Iberia has been offering direct flights twice a week since early December. Tromso in Norway, an ideal destination for observing the Northern Lights, also has twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays.

But the star destination at this time of year is Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland and the city where Santa Claus's house is located. To encourage travel to this magical place during this time of year, Iberia has scheduled four weekly flights from Madrid, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

London, Paris, Rome and New York, essential destinations

European capitals are always a must-see destination at this time of year. London, where Iberia offers 8 daily flights (and another 8 with British Airways), Paris, with up to 11 daily frequencies, and Rome with 6 daily flights. To this list we must add New York and Boston, the two destinations in the United States preferred by travellers to spend Christmas. Iberia operates three daily flights between Madrid and New York and one daily flight between Madrid and Boston. The latter route is operated with the recently incorporated Airbus A321XLR.
