Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the innovator in global cruise travel, today announced that Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway will undergo significant upgrades to offer more onboard experiences, including an all-new dining and film experience, Silver Screen Bistro; a new outdoor recreation concept, Horizon Park; as well as expansions of popular restaurants such as Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki; and expanded accommodations, including The Haven by Norwegian®.
“At Norwegian Cruise Line, understanding what our guests value most is critical to developing experiences. Our goal is to deliver their best vacation yet,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “From creating new concepts that offer more outdoor spaces to create memories with friends and family, to expanding the dining options that consistently delight our guests across our fleet, we’re offering more to do and more to enjoy for all types of travelers.”
NEW OUTDOOR SPACE, UPGRADED ROOMS AND EXPANDED DINING ABOARD NORWEGIAN BLISS
Following Norwegian Bliss’ dry docking from January 17, 2025 to February 2, 2025, guests will be able to enjoy the addition of a new space, Horizon Park. This versatile outdoor gathering space will offer a variety of experiences, from outdoor games like cornhole to giant Jenga and sun loungers on the upper deck. Designed by NCL’s Innovation Team in collaboration with SMC Design and Conductr, the area will offer expansive ocean views and a space for guests to gather in a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.
Building on demand for the new three-room category at The Haven by Norwegian®, first seen on Norwegian Prima® and then extended to Norwegian Joy® and Norwegian Encore® in 2024, Norwegian Bliss will now also feature updated accommodations for Premiere Owner's Suites with Large Balcony on the brand's ship-within-a-ship concept. These top-tier premium suites will now include three bedrooms; three and a half bathrooms; a separate dining area overlooking The Haven Horizon Lounge; and fully updated living areas, master bedrooms and exterior balcony furnishings. Repurposing a portion of the Deck 15 Observation Lounge, the ship will also add 24 additional balcony rooms and two additional Club balcony rooms.
As a result of strong guest acceptance, public area enhancements will include the expansion of Cagney’s Steakhouse, replacing Los Lobos; the expansion of Teppanyaki, replacing Coco’s; and the introduction of Palomar, the seafood restaurant that debuted on Norwegian Prima in 2022, replacing Ocean Blue. Once the ship completes her two-week dry dock, Norwegian Bliss will embark on a 13-day itinerary, beginning February 2, 2025, from Southampton, UK to Miami, before sailing to the Western Caribbean from Miami in February 2025; sailing to the Mexican Riviera in March 2025; and sailing from Seattle for the Alaska cruise season beginning April 2025.
FIRST CINEMATOGRAPHIC AND GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCE AT SEA ABOARD THE NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY
As part of NCL’s commitment to its “guests first” philosophy, Norwegian Breakaway will also undergo enhancements from February 19, 2025 through March 14, 2025. Developed by the brand’s innovation team and Studio DADO, a long-time NCL design partner, guests will have the opportunity to experience the new Silver Screen Bistro, an immersive cinema and dining venue for guests of all ages to enjoy. Replacing the Spiegel Tent, this industry-first concept will offer oversized, comfortable recliners and retractable tables for sharing menus, including select dishes from global fusion specialty restaurant Food Republic.
Like Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Breakaway will also offer the new Horizon Park, an outdoor activity area on top of the ship to offer guests beautiful 360° views of the ocean. The outdoor venue will feature an additional feature, a spacious stage for live music and entertainment, for guests to enjoy with friends, family and fellow cruisers.
As a result of its popularity on Prima Class ships, Norwegian Breakaway will debut The Stadium, the complimentary outdoor activities concept featuring games for the entire family. Additionally, guest-favorite Cagney's Steakhouse will replace Moderno Churrascaria to add more seating to the establishment, and Ocean Blue will become Palomar. Finally, Vibe Beach Club, the adults-only outdoor venue, and The Haven Sundeck will be expanded with more seating and cabanas for guests to further enjoy the stunning ocean and destination views.
