As the preferred tourist destination for international female tourists, Tulum leads the national ranking with 59% of preference and Cancun follows with 53.7%, said federal secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora in a statement.

Governor Mara Lezama stressed that this preference reflects that we are a tourist destination that has established itself as a world reference, with a new model that prioritizes the comfort and safety of all its visitors, because it has a humanist government, with a feminist heart.

In addition, in this New Era of Tourism, the 12 Quintana Roo destinations have a more inclusive, responsible and women-friendly approach, in addition to promoting the offer of experiences that range from well-being and relaxation to adventure and culture, all in a safe and respectful environment.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, in the first 11 months of 2024, 10.2 million foreign women were recorded arriving in Mexico by air, which represents an increase of 2.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Of this number, a significant portion chose destinations in Quintana Roo, consolidating the state as one of the most visited places by women of various nationalities, especially those from the United States.

Federal Secretary Josefina Rodríguez stated that, according to information from the Migration Policy Unit – Registration and Identity of Persons of the Ministry of the Interior (SEGOB), women represent 51.1 percent of the total number of international tourists arriving in the country by plane.

Tulum, in particular, stands out as the most popular destination, with 59 percent of its tourist influx made up of women, followed by Oaxaca with 53.8 percent, Cancun with 53.7 percent, and Los Cabos with 53.4 percent. This confirms the growing trend of female tourism in the state, which seeks not only relaxation, but authentic and safe experiences.
