Colombia is becoming increasingly attractive to Colombians and foreign tourists, as its natural wealth is currently promoted in different countries, national and international air connectivity has been consolidated and entrepreneurs in the travel industry have worked to adapt destinations and strengthen their portfolios in order to satisfy the needs of visitors.
“Throughout this year, we have seen how other destinations have had important results in tourist visits, even above traditional ones. This shows the work that has been done with Travel Agencies to diversify their offer of products and services through initiatives such as familiarization trips that we carry out in different regions of the country or our training events, because through these spaces, companies learn what the market demands today,” explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
Bogotá, Antioquia and Bolívar have traditionally been the destinations that have reported the highest volumes in passenger movement on domestic flights. However, between January and October 2024, the departments of Tolima, with an increase of 57%, compared to the same period in 2023; Risaralda, with 34%; Magdalena, with 27%; and Quindío, with 25%, were those that showed the highest levels of growth.
“The results of La Guajira are also noteworthy, with an increase of 23%; and Amazonas, with 14%. These nature and adventure destinations have consistently achieved very positive figures, so we estimate that they will have significant growth, visibility and demand from national and international tourists throughout 2025,” said the union leader.
