Central America continues to consolidate its position as an attractive and accessible destination for the European market, thanks to a significant expansion in direct and stopover air connectivity from key European cities, especially from Madrid and London.
AIRFRANCE has strengthened its services with two direct flights from Madrid to San José, Costa Rica, and four additional flights with stopovers in Mexico and the United States, thus offering a variety of connectivity. In addition, the airline has direct and stopover flights to Tocumen International Airport in Panama, and flights with stopovers to Guatemala, connecting travelers with various destinations in the Central American region.
Air Europa is also betting on the Central American market, with non-stop flights from Madrid to Tocumen International Airport in Panama, and a direct weekly connection to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as well as two weekly flights to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, expanding the possibilities for European tourists to enjoy the regional offer.
British Airways will operate direct flights between London Gatwick and Juan Santamaría International Airport in Costa Rica three times a week during the November to March season, an option eagerly awaited by British and European tourists looking to escape the winter to the Central American tropics.
Iberia, as one of the most established airlines in the region, offers daily flights to Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama and the Dominican Republic, allowing daily connections and great convenience for travelers who wish to explore more than one destination in the region.
Finally, Avianca has designed a seasonal flight offer between San Salvador and Madrid, available from June to January, a connection that provides European travelers with the opportunity to visit El Salvador and other nearby countries in Central America.
Thanks to these direct and stopover flight options, tourism to Central America benefits from greater accessibility and a variety of schedules, attracting a growing number of European travellers eager to discover the cultural, natural and adventure richness that this region offers in each of its destinations.
