The transition of the Uruguayan government began at the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) and Pablo Menoni, who was appointed to lead tourism policies from now on, highlighted Eduardo Sanguinetti's willingness to expand the data and information that correspond to this sector. Officially, the leaders of the Frente Amplio will occupy their respective positions from March 1.
After the first meeting, Eduardo Sanguinetti spoke to the press and said that the various aspects that concern the Ministry of Tourism were discussed. "We are both interested in the transition being as fluid as possible and with all the information... He was given much more complete information than the two summary pages that had been given to him at the beginning, with financial data, human resources, projects and different programs that we are working on."
Sanguinetti also said: “We discussed all aspects, from an administrative point of view, contracts, purchases, operations, etc. The situation is in order, there are no problems, all the processes are in place as they should be. We both agree that the budget should be much larger and increased… There will be new meetings, in fact, we have invited Minister Menoni to participate in FITUR in Madrid.”
