“The reputations and brands of great destinations are built on the level of interest, excitement and awareness they generate,” said David Whitaker, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, or GMCVB. “Being among the most sought-after destinations worldwide for our resorts and events, as well as our growing appeal as a business and investment center, reinforces Miami’s position as a hub for entertainment and unforgettable experiences,” he said.

The fact that the stadium is one of the most searched locations on Google underscores its importance as a venue for major events: the Super Bowls, the Miami Open, the FIFA Club World Cup, concerts and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. Miami's ability to host events of this magnitude reinforces its global reputation as a leading destination for sport, entertainment and leisure.

Miami's rise as a global hotspot is the result of years of investment and work in its cultural, culinary, sports, leisure and hospitality scene. As a result, it is now home to 14 Michelin-starred restaurants, including the only one in Florida with two Michelin stars. This reflects its evolution as a world-class gastronomic center that attracts food enthusiasts from around the world.

Its unique and varied offering attracts both travelers looking to relax and those looking for adventure. Factors such as:

World-class culture and entertainment. Miami is home to Art Basel Miami Beach, the Art of Black Miami program, the 2024 Latin GRAMMYs, the Rainbow Spring LGBTQ program, and year-round events celebrating art, culture, and the destination’s multicultural roots.

Culinary Excellence. In addition to the above, renowned culinary programs such as Miami Spice celebrate the destination’s culinary scene and the blend of flavors from around the world.

Natural beauty. From the turquoise waters of Biscayne Bay to the lush landscapes of the Everglades, Miami's natural attractions remain a cornerstone of its appeal.

Expanding luxury offerings. The opening of new hotels and the enhancement of luxury experiences continue to attract high-profile visitors.

Global Meetings & Conventions. Beyond sports and entertainment, Greater Miami and Miami Beach is also a global hub for major meetings and conventions. The Miami Beach Convention Center attracts high-profile events, such as the Adobe MAX conference in 2024, which drew creative professionals and innovators from around the world to experience Miami’s unique mix of business and inspiration.

Last week, Miami garnered national attention as the host of the 2025 Capital One Orange Bowl, which pitted two storied programs, the University of Notre Dame and Penn State University, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Jan. 9. As the College Football Playoff semifinal, the Orange Bowl drew fans, alumni and media from across the country.

Through innovative marketing campaigns, strategic partnerships and robust content initiatives, GMCVB has been instrumental in increasing the destination’s global visibility. “As we celebrate this recognition, we remain committed to ensuring Miami remains the destination of choice for travelers,” Whitaker added. “In 2025, we look forward to welcoming many more visitors to experience the magic of Miami.”
