These include the Newark/New York to Dominica routes, Houston to Puerto Escondido, and from San Francisco to San Jose, Costa Rica and Panama. This year's expansion opens United's operations to two new destinations, for a total of 158 routes to Latin America.

In Colombia, the airline began operations of a daily direct flight from Houston to Medellín and now, given its successful launch last November, it will expand its service to two daily flights from June 1 to August 18, 2025. Thus, during the high season, passengers will have two daily flights to travel between the two cities.

This latest flight expands United's presence in Colombia, complementing existing service from Houston and Newark to Bogota. In total, United now flies to 52 destinations in Latin America from Houston.

Last October, United Airlines marked a new milestone by connecting northern Mexico to the West Coast of the United States with the inauguration of its Monterrey - San Francisco flights. United became the first airline to offer non-stop service between these two important cities, with up to two daily flights during the peak season on an Embraer 175 aircraft operated by SkyWest, a United Express partner.

In addition, the airline increased its frequencies from Buenos Aires to Houston. During the southern summer, United offers more frequencies that connect Argentina directly with the United States. From October until March 2025, United Airlines has between 10 and 14 weekly flights on the Houston – Buenos Aires route, reinforcing its offer of a daily flight to meet the high demand during the high season.

Specifically, the airline will offer 14 weekly flights from December 1, 2024 to March 5, 2025; and 10 weekly flights from March 6 to March 29, 2025.

Expanding access to international destinations

United Airlines is positioned among consumers with an extensive and growing global network of destinations that offers people around the world, including Latin America, immense access to international destinations, spanning six continents and 67 countries, in a sustained effort to connect people and unite the world.

United Airlines' already broad range of destinations will continue to expand, with United expanding its network in Mexico and Central America beginning this year. Beginning April 5, United will be the first and only airline to connect the United States to Puerto Escondido, Mexico, with a once-weekly, year-round nonstop flight from Houston operated by United Express partner Mesa Airlines on Embraer 175 aircraft.

With this new flight, United will fly to 23 destinations in Mexico and 65 destinations in the Latin America and Caribbean region, following the recent addition of service to Dominica from Newark/New York on February 15, 2025.

As if that weren't enough, beginning May 22, United will also add a new daily flight between San Francisco and San Jose, Costa Rica, and a new daily flight between San Francisco and Panama City, Panama, both using Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft. United will now connect San Jose to all seven of its U.S. hubs, solidifying its position as the largest U.S. carrier to Costa Rica and Central America.

United is also expanding its network in other regions around the world. In May 2025, United will launch five new nonstop flights from its hub in Newark/New York to destinations no other U.S. airline serves, including Nuuk, Greenland; Palermo, Italy; Bilbao, Spain; Madeira Island, Portugal; and Faro, Portugal.

The airline is also adding three new nonstop routes from Washington DC/Dulles, including its first-ever year-round flight to Dakar, Senegal, and new seasonal nonstop flights to Nice, France, and Venice, Italy.

United will offer its largest transatlantic schedule ever in summer 2025, with more than 760 weekly flights. In addition to the new flights, customers will have even more time to explore Venice, Italy; Athens, Greece; and Barcelona, Spain, with earlier departure dates next summer.

The airline will increase the number of weekly nonstop flights between Newark/New York-Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Newark/New York-Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Newark/New York-Athens, Greece. United will also add new nonstop flights from Tokyo-Narita to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and Kaohsiung – destinations not served by any other U.S. carrier – and a new nonstop flight to Koror, Palau.

In total, United will offer 800 daily flights to and from 147 international destinations next summer, including 40 not served by any other U.S. airline.

Positive footprint in communities

United Airlines has a strong commitment to supporting the communities where it operates. An example of this are the programs in which it participates each year, such as “Girls in Aviation Day,” which is celebrated in various countries, including Latin American nations such as Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Argentina. During these annual events, Latin American girls can visit airports in their country to learn about the professions in the aviation sector, the job opportunities that exist and be inspired to join the industry in the future.

Additionally, as part of its commitment to introducing girls to aviation, this year, United Airlines, in partnership with the She Is Foundation, took 36 girls from Colombia, Ecuador and Peru to Houston, Texas, to the NASA Space Center, as part of the innovative “She Is Astronaut” program, which empowers girls and adolescents from communities with limited educational opportunities, providing them with the necessary tools for their development.

She Is Astronaut is a pioneering initiative in Latin America that seeks to transform lives by training and inspiring girls and young women between 11 and 16 years old in the areas of STEAM – acronym in English for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics – to break down social and economic barriers, and thereby prepare them to be the leaders of tomorrow.
