By assessing cities across multiple safety and inclusion factors – including gender pay parity, women’s safety, female workforce participation and the proportion of hotels with good reviews, as well as average review scores for coworking spaces and taxi services – Good Travel Management’s analysis identifies the top global cities that excel in these areas, offering a definitive guide to the safest and most supportive destinations for women business travellers in 2024.
In first place, with an impressive score of 9.04 out of 10, is Switzerland’s capital, Bern.
Bern scored highly in all category analyses, but scored highest for women’s safety (9.91), second only to Copenhagen.
It also has the highest percentage of high-quality hotels, with almost 70 percent having an average rating of four stars or higher. In second place is Wellington, New Zealand, with a normalized score of 8.11 out of 10.
With an outstanding labor force participation rate (the highest of all cities studied) and strong safety indicators for women (9.38), it is no surprise that “The Windy City” is a haven for female business travelers.

Amsterdam performed well in all categories studied, particularly in women's safety, where it scored 9.47, ranking seventh in the world in this category.
But it ranked top for its exceptional quality of business travel-related services.
