FITUR Screen announces a seventh edition with a greater international projection and a program that integrates diverse activities and presentations, opening new opportunities for destinations around the world to share their resources and collaborate in the development of screen tourism.

Of particular note is the presentation of the Spain Film Commission Ambassadors of the Year Award, which will be presented during the opening of FITUR Screen on January 22 at 12:30. This year's winners will be Esperanza Ibáñez, Director of Public Policies at Netflix for Spain and Portugal; and the Legal Content Strategy Unit of the Telefónica Group, headed by Clara Ruipérez de Azcárate, for their steadfast dedication to the growth of the audiovisual industry and its global expansion. They thus join the recognition that Spain Film Commission has been awarding for several years to outstanding personalities such as Rishabh Chopra, in 2024; James Costos, in 2019; or Aitana Sánchez Gijón, in 2020; thus highlighting the continuity and relevance of this award in the promotion of the international audiovisual industry.

In addition to these awards, the Best Production Award will be presented on Friday, January 24 to “Rita,” the debut film by Spanish actress and director Paz Vega, for the creativity and quality of the production, as well as its ability to consolidate Spain's image as a leader in the audiovisual industry.

More than fifteen presentations and a large presence of Mexico

As for the presentations at FITUR Screen, the highlights include the presentation by Grupo Piñero, producers of the film "Amanece en Samaná", filmed entirely in one of its hotel complexes in the Dominican Republic; and the presentation of Setjetters, an innovative application that connects users with locations of iconic films and series, promoting film tourism.

With a pioneering vision and greater international development, FITUR Screen 2025 has three new collaborating destinations in Mexico: the states of Jalisco, Morelia and Michoacán, which stand out for their historical, cultural and natural wealth and will be presented as great exponents of film tourism, consolidating themselves as reference destinations for international audiovisual productions.

This participation of Mexico reinforces the importance of the international projection of FITUR Screen, consolidating itself as a key platform to connect destinations around the world with the opportunities offered by the audiovisual sector. Spain Film Commission, as co-organizer of the section, is committed to highlighting the role of Mexico in the global film industry and promoting international collaborations that encourage the exchange of talent, locations and experiences between both countries, opening new doors for the growth of the industry on both sides of the Atlantic.

This edition of FITUR Screen will also feature eight partners from the Spain Film Commission network: Andalucía Film Commission, Aragón Film Commission, Canary Islands Film, Cantabria Film Commission, Extremadura Film Commission, Madrid Film Office, Rías Baixas Film Commission, Valladolid Film Commission, Vigo Film Office and Zaragoza Film Office, which will promote their territories at the fair.

These partners are joined by the cast of collaborators CETT, SETJETTERS, Ciudad de la Luz Film Estudios, Comunitat Valenciana, Grupo Piñero, Lloret de Mar Film Commission and La Palma Film Office, consolidating a strategic network that reflects the diversity and richness of the locations and services that Spain offers as a leading destination for film tourism globally.
